Fuminori Kagajo - Jazz Spectrum EP [Fatsouls] San Francisco-based indie Fatsouls Records was launched in 2007 with the aim to release dance music with emphasis on Afrobeat, Dub, Deep House, minimal tech and other Afro rhythms. Now they grew to the 6th release, not so afro though. Filled with 3 organic jazzy and soulful tunes (Klondike, Explorations and Jazzabo), “Jazz Spectrum EP” comes from Sapporo based japanese producer and DJ Fuminori Kagajo. Teamed up with world-class musicians and bringing in live saxophone, trumpet, bass and keyboard, these tracks are really another light in this dark electrified times…

Fuminori Kagajo Fuminori Kagajo is a DJ and Producer based in Japan. Since 1996, he’s has been DJing in clubs and fashion shows, supporting the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Ian Pooley, Fabio & Grooverider and many more in his home town of Sapporo as well as in the UK. Fumi is also in charge of the music of his elder brother’s stage group called “Scherzo” which has toured Japan since 2005. Fumi started Jazz/Crossover unit “Rawtech 45 Adaptors” with Kats ‘ushi Okada in 2007. Their work licensed to the “Doin’ James” compilation released on the popular G.A.M.M label. Fumi has forthcoming solo singles on Trippin’ Records UK (known for their releases by Peven Everett, Glenn Underground and more) and Fatsouls Records US (known for their releases by DJ Said, Jerome Sydenham). In the forthcoming single on King Street Sounds NY, Fuminori Kagajo teams his 5 piece ensemble up with rising star vocalist Adeola Ranson and co-writer/producer Si Finnegan from Tone Control for a Japan – UK collaboration, entitled “Piece of Heaven”.
