Young NY/UK/South Africa label Asante Records run by Roots O’Batala (also the man behind wonderful Global Soul Radio) specializes in deep, soulful, jazz, experimental and spiritually enlightened house music and already delivered some great releases including Jihad Muhammad, Joi Cardwell and Yoshihisa H. US DJ and producer, Grammy nominee, maestro Jay-J is back on his own Shifted Music with a collection of instrumentals named “October Moods“. Featuring ‘October Moods’ with a couple of mixes, and ‘Summer Moods’ this EP still sounds “sexy, soulful, dance floor driven” (as they claim all Jay’s production), though I’d rather highlight October Moods mixes that are driven by live trumpet and feels really live and “playable”. read more »

Chicago’s house veteran Glenn Underground gives birth to Strictly Jaz Unit Muzic label with debut release “Adore You” featuring beautiful vox of South Africa’s Roxy (Roxanne Miles). Actually the Strictly Jaz Unit is a legendary Chicago House trio, consisting of its founder Glenn Underground, and also Boo Williams and Tim Harper. read more »
