Mustafa – Sao Salvador

Categories: Releases
5 March 2010

Mustafa - Sao Salvador [Stalwart] The man of latin flavored chilled house Mustafa is back on french label Stalwart with another one from his album ‘Ginga Brasileira‘, “Sao Salvador“. With a variety of mixes from Mustafa himself (M’s Deep being so gently soulful and the bestest one for me), it features groovy UPZ soWHAT versions from Avi Elman, and even more peaktime’y Deep Josh Dub. Promoing now, look out for the release after March 22nd.

Lee Pearson Jr feat. Aki Kwam'e - Don't Get No Better Love [Sophisticado] Once I asked Vick Lavender on how is he able to drop so many great tunes in a row. “I work hard”, he replied. So another one from his Sophisticado Rec. comes on March 16th. Chicago’s own Lee Pearson Jr. and Aki Kwam’e on the vocals present “Don’t Get No Better Love“. Tuneful Original with charming male vox is accompanied with Vick Lavender’s All Soul mixes with Vick’s deep trademark approach.

Choklate – The Tea

Categories: Releases
3 March 2010

Choklate - The Tea [Reel People Music] Oli Lazarus and his Reel People were one of the first soulful impressions for me. After two studio albums, they’ve launched the new imprint Reel People Music and will release the third EP on March 15th. That will be “The Tea” by US gospel diet, singer/songwriter Choklate. Saturated soulful vocals here join the production from Reel People themselves with a discofied one, The Layabouts duo for deeper touch and French producer Manoo with surprisingly soulful jam.

Beauville – Living Easy

2 March 2010

Beauville ft. Jenny Halberg - Living Easy [Ospina Digital] US label Ospina Digital (obviously belongs to Davidson Ospina) is dropping its first 2010 release on March 9th: “Living Easy” featuring vocals of Jenny Halberg is a sexy soulful affair made by Beauville. That’s another stage name of dj and producer Damien J. Carter, who’s known for many different genres productions, and releases on Milk & Sugar in early ’00s. Soulful mafia should check Damien’s original mix and Rob Salmon Remix here, and there’s a couple of tougher versions.

To The Rock (Guy Robin Remixes)

1 March 2010

VMC - To The Rock (Guy Robin Remixes) [Hustle Music] Originally released in 2006 by Hustle Music, the great soulful gospel “To The Rock” by VMC was treated by DJ Spen himself and was (and is!) a huge dancefloor anthem. To give it the second life, UK based young (yes, he’s 20!) and talented Guy Robin did his best delivering 3 different, Vocal, Underground and Deeper versions. Expect from Hustle Music on March 8th.

27 February 2010

Random Soul - It's What You Got [Random Soul Recordings] After hopping from label to label australian duo Random Soul (omg, all the australians in recent posts) has finally launched their own offspring Random Soul Recordings! The debut EP comes on March 09th from Yogi & Husky themselves. Trademark bouncy sounds, vocals by Yogi and a number of mixes from RS and Jay-J reveal as 8 versions of “It’s What You Got“. Also there, “I Got What You Want” and known from Stompy 2010 Sampler earlier this year “See It For Yourself“. Good luck with the label guys!
