Long awaited cover for legendary Imagination in Danish interpretation, with remixes from Jay-J and Shane D!

One of the last releases of 2009, on December 29th 2009 Shifted Music dropped the 2nd part of Jay-J feat. Charlene Moore‘s “Love Alive” (from Jay-J’s album of the same name) remixes. Besides Christian Alvarez and Genelec mixes, this EP is noticeable for the rework from Denmark’s Soulmagic: their Classic Mix utilizes piano, guitar and live bass being all classic elements, though sounds a bit like recent remix for Shane D’s “Silence“.

South African Shane D is very productive and the real candidate for “2009 new star”. His recent single came out on Denmark Soulmagic camp on November 9th and is a amusing cover version of the old trance anthem “Silence” by Delirium. With Kerry Wood on the vocals, the Main Mix is kinda chunky, but Soulmagic Mix is stock and soulfully good, as well as D’s Broken Soul Dub.

Funkworks are back with two disco flavored soulful cuts, “Dancin’” and “No One To Stop Us” put together as The Whitelabels EP on Soulmagic Rec. Generous Flavour, Funkworks and Soulmagic are all monikers of Danish DJ/producer Morten Trust. Being in the industry for a decade, he produced for such labels as Soulfuric, Swing City, Morehouse, MN2S and his own label Soulmagic Recordings that he started in 2006. I guess his most known production is 2003′s track “Soulmagic” that has not only achieved phenomenal global succes, but also received the award for “Danish clubtrack of the year”. read more »
