Barry White’s one and only “Love’s Theme” is re-worked by Italian mafia, Vincent Valler and Alfred Azzetto, with shiny disco feel, with “strings and horns by Vincent Valler Orchestra”. Sounds familiar? No, DJ Meme has nothing to do about this track except suggesting doing a vocal version. So we have Savio on the vox of some versions. What label is the right one for this? Purple Music of course! Purple guys on the remixes as well: Walterino & David Rizzo, Alfred Azzetto, DJ Fopp, Luis Radio & Raffa – all mixes are great keeping the original vibe! Will be out on International Women’s Day, March 8th.

By the way speaking of Micky More, do not miss his remix for New Jersey soul songstress Angela Johnson, “Better“. As you might already spotted it in 86th Summer Fondue, it’s a nicely done 123 bpm house version, with live instruments again and worthy soulful vocals. It was out in December 2009 exclusively in iTunes Store. Another MM’s news is that Micky’s doing a remix for Groove Junkies’ “Far Away” that will be out soon on MoreHouse. Looks like they’re swapping remixes.

Italian producer Micky More is the name that produce not very often, but do it a very superb way. Last year he launched his own label Street of Soul and dropped “Zero Gravity” as a debut back in July 2008. But finally he will be back with another jazzy masterly instrumented track entitled “A Touch Of Jazz“. Planned to be released on March 5th, the package includes Classic Mix, Organ Dub and Piano Deluxe from Micky himself as well as mixes from Groove Junkies, Scott Wozniak, Andy & Dave and Alex Dimitri. As usual, we know it’s all about original mixes.

Italian label Just4Funk running by Andrea Carissimi is back with the third release (check previous two: 2008’s “Lose My Mind” and July’s and already in my Top-2009 “Power In You“). Once again with Andrea’s powerful funk driven outburst and boisterous vocals of Brent St. Clair, “Straight Up” continues to glorify distinctive Italian approach. Sometimes producers don’t wanna release under their usual names for one reason or another, or use vocalist name as a co-writer of a track. This happened to one of the recent Barcoda releases: numbered 26, “Capture” is authored by Emanuelle. In fact, this wonderful, very light, shiny track with French vocal was produced by Italian producer Donato Losito aka Double Dee (worked with Mario Biondi, released for IRMA Records, and is a part of B.A.D Connection project – they’re releasing “Be Thankful” from Purple Music now) and French vocalist and DJ (I guess) Manuela Driusso aka Emanuelle. read more »

“Give In” by Italian White Soul Project with vocals of talented Wendy Lewis, as seen on Duffnote WMC Sampler, is released on August 28th. Included on sampler, Jordan Dee Remix has already gained massive support and stayed as top package mix for me, though we have Original, LeisureGroove and Duffnotians DK Jones and Richard Earnshaw remixes as well. By the way Richard became father recently, and we wish him happy parenting! :)
