Italian producer Micky More is the name that produce not very often, but do it a very superb way. Last year he launched his own label Street of Soul and dropped “Zero Gravity” as a debut back in July 2008. But finally he will be back with another jazzy masterly instrumented track entitled “A Touch Of Jazz“. Planned to be released on March 5th, the package includes Classic Mix, Organ Dub and Piano Deluxe from Micky himself as well as mixes from Groove Junkies, Scott Wozniak, Andy & Dave and Alex Dimitri. As usual, we know it’s all about original mixes.

Every country has its own house heroes, and former USSR republics are no exception. Estonian Dave Storm runs house label Ceremony Records that turned to the compatriot seeking for new talents. Out on January 27th, a new compilations entitled Clazz сompiled by Ricky Inch, features eight great house instrumentals with jazz influences, including 3 tracks from Russian young producers Elastic Sound, D’Flower and MHB Crew. Considering me being patriotic now, it’s good having small local artists exposed to the larger house scene. But the tracks are good!

San Francisco-based indie Fatsouls Records was launched in 2007 with the aim to release dance music with emphasis on Afrobeat, Dub, Deep House, minimal tech and other Afro rhythms. Now they grew to the 6th release, not so afro though. Soul Harmonics is the soulful house and nujazz project of Australian Dave McKinney (aka Flow Dynamics on Freestyle Records). On November 23th, he released an album entitled “These Times“. The single of the same name featuring Rachel Claudio was out on Jaffa Music in 2008, but now we have an album with 10 really “ultra funky, jazz fueled soulful house grooves” including some remixes and original productions. Slightly different in moods, all tracks are worth checking out.

Following the release from label’s owner, on October 28th UK based Reelgroove delivers its 33th title. German producer Clemens Rumpf teams up with gospel vocalist David A. Tobin to bring “Jazz In The House EP“. As the name suggests, it’s no soulful but strictly underground jazzy deep, including viscous “This Old House” (previously on Reelgroove summer sampler) with spoken story bout house music, groovy “Jazz In The House” with furry sax part and “Favourite Underground“.

Chicago veteran Vick Lavender is da real non-stoppable guy throwing releases like crazy. Luckily, that doesn’t mean low quality. New one from his Sophisticado is called “Ella” and is dedicated to Ella Fitzgerald. A pair of tracks released on August 29th, are midtempo US deep jazzy house with pleasant keys, remarkable vocal by Michele Thomas and cool trombone riffs on one of the edits.
