Every country has its own house heroes, and former USSR republics are no exception. Estonian Dave Storm runs house label Ceremony Records that turned to the compatriot seeking for new talents. Out on January 27th, a new compilations entitled Clazz сompiled by Ricky Inch, features eight great house instrumentals with jazz influences, including 3 tracks from Russian young producers Elastic Sound, D’Flower and MHB Crew. Considering me being patriotic now, it’s good having small local artists exposed to the larger house scene. But the tracks are good!

Moscow soulful collective Soul Cola
Venger Collective is the Russian band created in 2006 by Alexander Lygin and Vladislav Vengerovsky. Now with 10 members, they play acidjazz, soulfunk, lounge, perform frequently and are always given a warm welcome by the audiences. Their single “9 o’clock” has been around for a while and even was struggling for Eurovision 2009.
