Here’s a small bonus for my podcast subscribers. I’m putting out the guestmix I recorded for Funky Hour Radioshow by our local Russian DJ Euphorique, it was aired in January. Every country has its own house heroes, and former USSR republics are no exception. Estonian Dave Storm runs house label Ceremony Records that turned to the compatriot seeking for new talents. Out on January 27th, a new compilations entitled Clazz сompiled by Ricky Inch, features eight great house instrumentals with jazz influences, including 3 tracks from Russian young producers Elastic Sound, D’Flower and MHB Crew. Considering me being patriotic now, it’s good having small local artists exposed to the larger house scene. But the tracks are good!

Almost a year ago, Russian siberian label Kolonki Recordings released beautiful No Fim Do Dia EP by Rosa Morena Russa. On November 20th one of the tracks from that EP, featuring male vocals of Roberto Crescenti, is out as a separate Ventania (The Remixes) release with three versions: easy jazzy one from Italian lounge duo Italian Secret Service, remix from label’s honcho Cortes and a deeper percussive journey from the head of Cabana Recordings, Justin Imperiale.

Venger Collective is the Russian band created in 2006 by Alexander Lygin and Vladislav Vengerovsky. Now with 10 members, they play acidjazz, soulfunk, lounge, perform frequently and are always given a warm welcome by the audiences.
