On October 1st, Purple Music surprised us with a momentous tribute to MJ, “Billie Jean” produced by Spain-France crew of Rocco & Danny Marquez, with vocals by Ricky Galliano. Among numerous bootlegs coming out these days it’s nice to have something officially released. Mixes include Original Bootleg Mix, deeper Rocco Deep Mix and more clubbish DJ Fudge & Danny Marquez Mix (met good reactions on our Soul Color parties).

Palma de Mallorca based spanish producer and DJ Kiko Navarro returns to Pacha Recordings with the brand new release “Leave Something Here” featuring vocals of Dee 7 and Antonia Ferra. No stranger to the house music scene, producing from 2001, his several tracks come to my mind: his “Shining” on Nite Grooves in 2004, remixes for Blaze, and “Sonando Contigo” [Swank, 2007] and “Ache Pa Ti” [Pacha, 2007].

Spain based ‘retro-futuristic’ (as they called themselves) Xtrasolar Records delivered its second release on April 3rd: a groovy funk & disco flavored cover for George Duke’s classic, “Brazilian Love Affair“, made by Spain’s Soulfeenix together with now NYC’s american-japanese songstress Monday Michiru.
