Oli Lazarus and his Reel People were one of the first soulful impressions for me. After two studio albums, they’ve launched the new imprint Reel People Music and will release the third EP on March 15th. That will be “The Tea” by US gospel diet, singer/songwriter Choklate. Saturated soulful vocals here join the production from Reel People themselves with a discofied one, The Layabouts duo for deeper touch and French producer Manoo with surprisingly soulful jam.

For the lovers of San Francisco house sounds, OM Records and good old days, Chuck Love is one of the main men. Long time no news from him, but finally something: his brand new label Love Network was launched. Debuting with “U R Everything” on February 8th, Chuck collaborates with another OM diva, DJ, producer and singer Colette. Main Mix resembles Chuck’s signature sounds, Love Network Rework goes to a guitar driven ‘rocky’ stylah, and also there Santiago & Bushido version of a harder techy side. Well, not on the soulful side, but definitely in the house, Dennis Ferrer’s “Hey Hey” did a great damage on the floors and entitled “essential new tune” by Pete Tong. Initially on Dennis’ Objektivity, it later was signed to Defected and released on February 12th (oh yeah how could Simon miss this bomd?). Simple but powerful, intriguing and strictly underground, this is a biggest since the times of DF’s Fish Go Deep’s The Cure & The Cause remix.

Cape Verdean born and now NY inhabitant, part of Elements of Life, singer, songwriter, producer and DJ Anane releases her 15 tracks album “Ananesworld“. Another marvelous collaboration from New York: guys from DJN Project teamed up with Fuzion duo (George Mena + Franke Estevez) to bring absolutely soulful, uplifting chune with a bit of rap, “Feelings“. Scheduled to be released on March 1st on Fuzion Records, the Original and DJN Remix are extremely impressive, expecting a great support.
