Florida based DJ Roland Clark is the real voice of house music. His quote “If House is a nation, I wanna be president!” is supported by collaborations with many major artists from Fatboy Slim to Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, Mark Knight, Sandy Rivera, Rodger Sanchez, Erick Morillo and many many others. Covered by a number of aliases (Digital Pimps, South Street Player, Urban Soul, Jesus Jackson) he sings, DJs and produces.
Another soul classic from 1980s gets treatment by house masters. Glenn Jones’ “Show Me” was re-worked by Degrees Of Motion and vocalized by Billy Porter. The man behind Degrees Of Motion is Richie Jones who is responsible for loads dance music productions including Jennifer Lopez’ “Waiting For Tonight”.
Louie Vega’s Vega Records took a pace of frequent digital releases welcoming new artists to the label (such as Boddhi Satva, Louie Lou Gorbea, Duce Martinez, Fabion Genito etc.). Having loads of material from past times it’s definitely worth to put it up sometimes as compilations of unreleased. On February 2nd label delivered another Vega Records Digital Bundle with 10 tunes of Louie’s style including some nice ones.
