Sometimes producers don’t wanna release under their usual names for one reason or another, or use vocalist name as a co-writer of a track. This happened to one of the recent Barcoda releases: numbered 26, “Capture” is authored by Emanuelle. In fact, this wonderful, very light, shiny track with French vocal was produced by Italian producer Donato Losito aka Double Dee (worked with Mario Biondi, released for IRMA Records, and is a part of B.A.D Connection project – they’re releasing “Be Thankful” from Purple Music now) and French vocalist and DJ (I guess) Manuela Driusso aka Emanuelle. read more »

On October 1st, Purple Music surprised us with a momentous tribute to MJ, “Billie Jean” produced by Spain-France crew of Rocco & Danny Marquez, with vocals by Ricky Galliano. Among numerous bootlegs coming out these days it’s nice to have something officially released. Mixes include Original Bootleg Mix, deeper Rocco Deep Mix and more clubbish DJ Fudge & Danny Marquez Mix (met good reactions on our Soul Color parties).

Melchyor A continues his collaboration with Louis Benedetti’s SoulShine label and in the mid-September has dropped a double release “Real Thing” with the silky vocals of MJ White. Classy jazzy percussion filled Main mixes are followed by pack of Mr Benedetti’s remixes of US deep and melodic approach.

Let me not forget one beautiful EP released back in August 2009 on Kerri Chandler’s label Grei Matter. The talented french producers Yass teamed up with the couple of great vocalists being Paris based Jay Sebag and New Jersey based gospel singer Tahira Memory, to bring a pleasant silky “All I’m Asking For“. Despite of Yass’ known bombs, this one is extremely smooth. On the remix duties, a new duo from Italy, Tony Loreto & Jacko with three larded versions.

Talking about Tricircle Recordings, on August 11th another wonderful release saw the light. “Ven A Mi Fiesta” by french DJ, remixer and producer Leo Cuenca is a smooth latin vocal house as the name suggests, with wicked horns section.
